On 6th December 2008 children of Makkala Mane, Ashakirana and MCT Quarters have participated in great walkathon 2008 to mark world day of disabled. A total of 71 children along with 15 volunteers and staff walked from Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru for about 3 kms. The event was organized by Samarthanam Trust for the disabled, Bengaluru in association with other organizations and corporate houses.
To express the solidarity with disabled community Samaja Vikasa Kendra Trust(SVKT) actively participated in the event. The children of our homes i.e. Makkala mane, AshaKirana and the children from our working areas happily joined the walkathon and enjoyed each and every moment wearing T-shirts and Caps with colorful balloons etc.,
Celebrities from all walks of life - Cinema, Industry, Business, Education, Politics have enthusiastically joined the walkathon and made the whole event more colorful.
We congratulate all our volunteers and the organizers for making an opportunity to join great cause.
